What helps you grow?

Hey,

October is birthday month in our family, with ten birthdays in six weeks.
It reminds me how different we all are and what each person brings.

Recently, I asked a client to name positive adjectives that describe them.
It was much harder than it sounds. Many of us can name our faults more easily than our strengths.

But qualities are rarely simply good or bad. When a plant wilts, we check the light, water and soil. Before deciding something about us needs fixing, perhaps we should ask whether our environment is helping us grow.

Thanks again for being here. I hope you have a lovely fortnight, with a little more space to notice what is already good in you.

Name 3 good things

This week, name three qualities you like about yourself. Not roles or achievements, just words that describe you: curious, patient, funny or determined.

If you hear yourself adding a “but,” stop there. Choose one quality and notice where it feels strongest, who appreciates it and how you could give it more room.

A simple spring reset

The brighter days are here, and I can feel the difference. Morning light supports our body clock, while sunshine makes me want to move, get outside and spend more time on the course.

I have also returned to the basics: more sleep, fruit and vegetables, less sugar and seasonal food. Making these small adjustments has made me feel really good.

What I’m exploring

This week I visited The Gut Clinic Queenstown for some help with my gut health. The consultation and recommendations were exactly what I needed.

It was a good reminder that the gut and brain are connected. Looking after one can support the other.
